Botserv
What
is a bot? Services
bots are programs that sit in your room and look like a
regular
opped user in the nick list. They work for the room founder
and
channel ops to make commands easier and help in the control
of
the room. The bots are ready to use but some options, i.e.
kicking
for flooding, badwords, etc., need to be set by the founder.
There
is a limit of one services bot per channel but a mirc bot
may
be run by the founder along with a services bot.
Viewing
the available bots: /MSG botserv
botlist
This
command lists the services bots that are available. Names of
the
bots cannot be changed. The bots all perform the same
functions.
Assigning
the bot: /MSG botserv assign #channel
botname
This
command assigns the bot to a registered channel. If you
haven't
registered your channel yet, look in chanserv for the
commands
to do so. When you view the botlist, you'll see entries like
this:
Kenny (who@killed.me). Botname would be "Kenny" if this were
the
bot being assigned to the channel. For example, to assign
the
bot Kenny to the channel #help, the command would be: /MSG
botserv
assign #help Kenny.
Set:
Various commands
used
to configure bot options:
Don't
Kick Ops: /MSG botserv set #channel dontkickops on
This
command enables op protection on the channel. When it is
enabled,
ops won't be kicked by the bot even if they don't match
the
NOKICK level on the access list (see chanserv). To return
the
channel to kicking ops who don't match the NOKICK level,
type:
/MSG botserv set #channel dontkickops
off
Don't
Kick Voices: /MSG botserv set #channel dontkickvoices on
This
command enables voice protection on the channel. When it is
enabled,
voices won't be kicked by the bot even if they don't match
the
NOKICK level on the access list (see chanserv). To return
the
channel to kicking voices who don't match the NOKICK level,
type:
/MSG botserv set #channel dontkickvoices
off
Greet:
/MSG botserv set #channel greet off
This
command disables the greet mode on a channel which
allows
users' greet messages to be displayed when they enter
the
channel even if they have sufficient access level to do
so.
The bot comes with this option automatically enabled
when
you first assign it to the channel so that greet
messages
are displayed. To return the channel to allowing greets
to
be displayed, type: /msg botserv set
#channel
greet on
Fantasy:
/MSG botserv set #channel fantasy on
This
option comes automatically enabled when you assign the
bot
to the channel. It allows users to use the commands:
!op,
!deop, !voice, !devoice, !kick, !kb, !unban and
!seen.
Symbiosis:
/MSG botserv set #channel symbiosis on
This
option comes automatically enabled when you assign the bot
to
the channel. It allows the bot to do everything normally
done
by ChanServ on channels, such as Modes, Kicks and the entry
message.
Kick:
These
commands are used to configure the bot kick commands which
will
kick abusive users from the channel for various
options:
Kick
for Bolds: /MSG botserv kick #channel bolds on
This
command tells the bot to kick users who use bolds. Using
the
command this way uses the default ttb (times till ban)
which
is 6 lines in 10 seconds. The ttb may be specified using
/MSG
botserv kick #channel bolds on ttb.
For
example, /MSG botserv kick #help
bolds
on 3 6 10 tells the bot in the #help channel to
kick
(on) 3 (number of kicks until banning) 6 (number of
lines
until kicking) 10 (time in seconds than the number of
lines
is typed in). To disable the kick on bolds, type: /MSG botserv kick #channel bolds
off.
Kick

To
disable the kick for badwords, type: /MSG
botserv kick #channel badwords off. Note,
the badwords list must be built and maintained by the
founder
or channel ops with sufficient
access.
Kick
for Caps: /MSG botserv kick #channel caps on
This
command tells the bot to kick users who use caps. The bot
kicks
only if there are at least a minimum number of characters
typed
in caps and they constitute at least a certain percent of
the
total text line. If the above command is given in the form
shown,
bot uses the default setting which is 10 characters and 25%
of
the total text line. TTB is also the default setting banning
on
the 3rd kick for 6 lines in 10 seconds. For more information
on
ttb, see the Kick For Bolds explanation. To set the min
character
and percentage and the ttb, use this form of the command:
/MSG
botserv kick #channel caps on ttb min percentage. To
disable
the kick for caps, type:
/MSG botserv kick #channel caps
off.
Kick
for Colors: /MSG botserv kick #channel colors on
This
command tells the bot to kick users who uses colors. Using
the

seconds.
Refer to the Kick for Bolds command for an explanation on
setting
the ttb. To disable the kick for colors, type: /MSG
botserv kick #channel colors off.
Kick
for Flooding: /msg botserv kick
#channel
Flood On This
command sets the flood kicker on. When enabled, this option
tells
the bot to kick users who are flooding. Using the command
this
way uses the default ttb of 6 lines in 10 seconds. Refer to
the
Kick for Bolds command for an explanation on setting the
ttb.
To disable the kick for flooding, type: /msg
botserv kick #channel flood off
Kick
for Repeat: /MSG botserv kick #channel repeat on
This
command tells the bot to kick users who are repeating
themselves
a certain number of times. If a number is not specified, the
default
number of 3 is used. The default setting for ttb is also
used.
Refer to the Kick for Bolds command for an explanation on
setting
the ttb. To set the number and ttb, use this form: /MSG
botserv kick #channel repeat on ttb num. To
disable the kick for repeats, type: /MSG
botserv kick #channel repeat off.
Kick
for Reverses: /MSG botserv kick #channel reverses on
This
command tells the bot to kick users who use color reverses
(i.e.,
one color on top of another). The default setting for ttb
of
6 lines in 10 seconds is used. Refer to the Kick for Bolds
command
for an explanation on setting the ttb. To disable the kick
for
reverses, type: /MSG botserv kick
#channel
reverses off.
Kick
for Underlines: /MSG botserv kick #channel underlines on
This
command tells the bot to kick users who use underlines.
The
default setting for ttb of 6 lines in 10 seconds is used.
Refer
to the Kick for Bolds command for an explanation on
setting
the ttb. To disable the kick for underlines, type: /MSG
botserv kick #channel underlines off.
Badwords:
These commands maintain the badwords list for a channel. The
badwords
list determines which words are to be kicked when the bad
words
kicker is enabled.
Add
a Word to Badwords List: /MSG
botserv
badwords #channel add badword_here single
This
command adds the given word to the badwords list that
bot
will use to kick. With SINGLE specified, a kick will be
done
only if a user says the entire word. If /MSG
botserv badwords #channel add badword_here start is
used, a kick will be done if a user says a word that
starts
with the word, i.e.: if "ass" is the badword, a user
saying
the word "assign" would be kicked. If /MSG
botserv badwords #channel add badword_here end is
used, a kick will be done if a user says a word that
ends
with the word, i.e.: if "ass" is the badword, a user
saying
the word "compass" would be kicked. If nothing is
specified
(single, start or end) then a kick will be issued every
time
the word is said in any form by the
user.
Delete
a Word from Badwords List: /MSG botserv
badwords
#channel del badword
This
command deletes the given word from the channel's badwords
list.

commands allow you to see Botserv information about a
channel
or a bot. It the parameter is a channel, then you'll get
information
such as enabled kickers. If the parameter is the botname,
you'll
get information about the bot, such as creation time or
number
of channels it is on.
Making
bot "talk": /MSG botserv say #channel say_this
This
command allows founders or channel ops with a sufficient
access
level to make bot appear to talk.
Unassigning
the bot: /MSG botserv unassign #channel
This
command removes the services bot from the channel.
